ABOUT US
PTS
Pieces Together Shanghai is a non-profit organization that hosts street events inviting strangers to create collage poems. Participants are encouraged to utilize and recycle second-hand paper materials, such as newspaper clippings, magazines, and textbooks, to craft their own unique works of art. We believe that each person's perspective and experiences are distinct, and through the medium of collage poetry, we can weave these individual expressions into a vibrant tapestry of creativity and connection.
OUR MISSION
PTS
Why do we make collage poetry?
Collage poetry (n.)
A poem crafted using words and phrases cut out from pre-existing materials, such as magazines or newspapers.
These fragments can be carefully or haphazardly arranged.
By piecing together disjointed words, collage poetries are surprising and serendipitous.
Collage poetry gives people complete freedom to create new meanings, patterns, and interpretations based on personal preferences.
